About Me

1000 Grandmothers Prayer Initiative is a collective of the spirit of the grandma, granny's, nana's, big mama, madear, and all the many and varied affectionate terms for the unconditional and indescribable love of a grandmother. In the spirit of Holly Near's lyrics, "1000 Grandmothers", we shall advocate for a more peaceful society for children in particular, and the restoration of the family God calls us to be, in general. This blog is being established in response to the many, many, many girls(and boys) who are placed in foster care system, some in homes, others in group homes or juvenile hall. The numbers are too great to be ignored. So, grandmothers let's get going! Let's pray for the change we want to see, by being the change God has called us all to be! 1000 Grandmothers is a social justice response to Luke 4:17-18, and in partial fulfillment of an graduate course in Advocacy with Bakke Graduate School of Theology--Global Urban Leadership.

PRAY FOR GIRLS IN GROUP HOMES

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2010

Focus:  Classy: 17 years old; has run away since Friday, December 3.  Pray for her safe return.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to fill and satisfy her souls deepest need.

Scripture Reference:  Psalm 91:1-2:  "He who dwells in the secret place place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust."

May it be unto Classy to find shelter and refuge in the secret place of the Most High God.

Shalom,

Minister Loretta (AuntieLo)
